A white supremacist who considered the Christchurch mosque murderer a hero and was arrested after counterterrorism officers in the Metropolitan Police alerted counterparts in Scotland faces a lengthy prison sentence.

Sam Imrie was arrested after detectives discovered that he had been posting messages on social media that said he was planning to attack an Islamic centre.

Detectives discovered that Imrie, 24, had acquired an array of weapons which included a combat knife, nunchucks, an axe, a black-handled knife, a hammer, a rifle scope and a wooden-handled lock knife.
