Rangers fans face arrest for singing anti-Catholic song in Glasgow

Rangers supporters who caused outrage by singing a racist and sectarian song urging Irish Catholics to “go home” should expect to be arrested, a senior police officer has said.

A video circulating on social media showed a group of men being escorted through Glasgow city centre by officers while chanting a song referencing the Irish famine, which led to the deaths of about a million people in the 19th century. In the clip, the Rangers supporters could be heard singing: “From Ireland they came, brought us nothing but trouble and shame.
