Freedom Declared Foundation were set up to champion Freedom of Religion or Belief throughout the United Kingdom. In our latest state of the nation interview, Maureen Sier gives her perspective about the state of Freedom of Religion or Belief in the UK.
Maureen has worked for Interfaith Scotland for 20 years, both as National Development Officer and more recently as Director. Prior to her work in Interfaith relations Maureen taught Sociology at the University of Samoa in the South Pacific.
As Director of Interfaith Scotland she was awarded a UK/US Fulbright Scholarship which allowed her to undertake interfaith engagement across America and has recently engaged in international interfaith work in Europe and Asia Pacific.
Maureen is a graduate of Aberdeen University where she received both her Masters and PhD. She is a Baha’i by religion and is married with 4 children and 7 grandchildren.
