The Untold Story of Syrian Kurdish Christians
We have reported at USCIRF about atrocities against Christians, Yazidis, other religious minorities in the areas Turkey invaded in Northeast Syria, but recently learned they are specifically targeting Kurdish Christian converts with apostasy charges. This article tells their story. Assyrians have an ancient history in the region and play a crucial role in the Christian community in Northeast Syria, along with Syriac, Armenian, and Chaldean Christians. The international community must preserve this refuge that includes some of the oldest Christian communities in the world.
